Jesus Christ: The Power of God (1 Cor. 1: 23, 24)

Jesus Christ is the power of God in the sense of being the means by which God works in our lives.

What are the works God does in our lives? Forgiveness, righteousness, Holy Spirit, resurrection, eternal life.
God does all these works in our lives only through Jesus Christ.
We have access to God through him alone. Jn. 14:6: Eph. 2: 18

God has given all authority to him. Mt. 28: 18

1) Jesus Christ is God’s means of forgiving sins. Mt. 1: 21; Jn. 1: 29; Lk. 24: 46, 47; Acts 10: 43; 13: 38, 39; Eph. 1: 7; 1 Jn. 2:12.

Sin cannot be forgiven except through Christ. His name remits sins. 1Jn. 2:12

God can not forgive sins without Christ. So, Jesus is the one who forgives sins. Lk. 5: 24

2) God gave Jesus his Holy Spirit. Lk. 3:22; Acts 10: 38

Since then God is no longer giving Holy Spirit directly to any one. He cannot bypass Christ to give his Spirit to anyone.

The Holy Spirit is now being given to all believers by the Lord Jesus Christ himself. Lk. 24: 49; Acts 2: 33.

3) God raised Jesus from the dead and gave him power and authority to raise others from the dead. So, God is not going to raise any one else from the dead.

Jesus is the one to raise all others from the dead. Jesus is the power of God or the means by which God would raise the dead. Jn. 5: 25-29; 6: 39, 40, 44, 54; 10: 25, 26; 2 Cor. 4:14

As such he will raise all those who believe in him from the dead at the first resurrection. He will not leave even one believer behind in the grave. Jn. 6: 37, 39

4) God raised Jesus from the dead; Jesus did not raise himself from the dead. Acts 2: 24, 32; 3: 15; Rom. 8: 11; 10:9; 1 Cor. 6: 14
God gave Jesus immortality or eternal life after resurrection. Rom. 6: 9; 1 Pet. 1: 21

God will not give any other man eternal life or immortality. Jesus is the one to give all other men eternal life or immortality. Jn.10: 28; 17: 2; Phil. 3: 20, 21

He is the means by which God gives eternal life to mankind. Eph. 1: 5; 1 Jn. 5: 11, 12

5) God will not judge any man because he is God! His standards are higher than man’s. As a spirit He doesn’t not understand all that man goes through.

Angels cannot also judge mankind because they are spirits and do not have the same experiences with mankind.

Jesus Christ is the judge of mankind because he is a Man. Jn. 5: 22, 27.

He understands human weaknesses. The judge of the whole world is a Man. Heb. 2: 17, 18.

So, God has appointed him as judge of mankind. Acts 10: 42; 17: 31; 2 Tim. 4:1; 1Pet. 4:5

He will not condemn any of the least persons who believe in him. He will not condemn any believer.
All believers will be justified in judgment because the One who sits in judgment is our own brother. Rom. 8: 32; Heb. 2: 11-13, 17, 18

We are members of his body. He cannot deny us in judgment.

He is the means by which God would judge the world. There is no judgement without Christ. Rom. 2:16. He is the power of God unto judgment.
